Politician Offered Mother and Child to Cannibals

A 53-year-old Conservative Party politician goes on trial this week in Winterthur for placing an advertisement on behalf of his friend’s wife and daughter, claiming they wanted to be slaughtered and eaten.

A Swiss sadist who offered his friend’s wife and daughter to cannibals for slaughter, apologized in court to his would-be victims while citing his poor relationship with his mother as the trigger for his actions.

The trial of Hans Ulrich R for attempted murder opened on Wednesday in Winterthur, online news site 20 Minuten reported, with the prosecution calling for a 17-year jail sentence.
The suspect, a convicted murderer and Winterthur council employee, put out a “wanted” ad on the internet in 2010, supposedly on behalf of his friend Peter J’s wife, the 27-year-old Patricia J, and their 12-year-old daughter, newspaper Blick reported.

The ad said the unwitting pair were offering themselves up as sex slaves and looking for a “sadistic master or butcher who can educate us mindless creatures”.

Appearing in sandals and ankle restraints, Hans Ulrich R admitted to posting the ad. He claimed, however, that it was meant as a joke.

But according to reports, the information he gave in his first interrogation was entirely different from that delivered in court on Wednesday.

Hans Ulrich R likened his friend's wife to his own mother, who he said had sexually abused and tortured him as a young man. The suspect claimed that he wanted to protect his friend, who had been going through messy divorce proceedings with his wife.

He claims that Peter J had complained about his wife, and had even wished her dead on occasion. According to prosecutor Ulrich Krättli, Hans Ulrich R had decided to help get her out of the way, “so that [Peter J’s] children would not have to grow up with such a mother”.

“His aim was for the wife to be picked up, raped and later sadistically murdered,” said Krättli.

According to the prosecutor, Hans Ulrich R had said he included the details about the daughter in order to attract more interest in his ad.

The prosecution further argued that the ad cannot have been a joke since the accused had given the woman’s real address. She even reported having been visited by a man late at night, who had wanted to take her with him.

“It is only because the woman had the presence of mind to close the door that nothing worse happened,” Krättli said.

The defence lawyer, Daniel Christe, tried to argue that there was never any real intention to promote the killing of the women, and maintained instead that his client was being persecuted for his involvement in sadomasochistic practices.

Christe also said that such adverts were common.

"They are not seriously meant, nor should they be taken seriously," Christe said, as he argued for his client to be given a six-month sentence.

Speaking to the court, the accused apologized for putting his friend's wife through such a traumatic experience.

"I submit voluntarily to therapy and hope somebody can show me how to control my aggression and channel it in a different way."

In the ad composed on behalf of his friend's wife and daughter, the accused wrote: “We are also keen to meet gentlemen interested in slaughter and dolce who would like to roast us on a spit."
He later told police that "dolce" in this context meant cannibalism, Blick reported.

A trained cheese maker, Hans Ulrich R, also known by the name “Marquis el Diablo”, co-founded the Embrachertal branch of the Conservative Party with his policeman friend Peter J. The pair had got to know each other at a gathering for sadomasochists.
According to Hans Ulrich R, about 20 people responded to the ad, one saying that he had a special dungeon in his farm basement.

Another described himself as an "ideal and very experienced master butcher". Hans Ulrich responded, detailing the woman and girl’s supposed sexual repertoire.

“We are tired of the normal life. Will you pick us up?” Hans Ulrich R wrote. He sent through pictures of the woman and child, and posted their address.

Luckily for the would-be victims, the "master butcher" turned out to be an undercover policeman. He arrested the killer in October 2010.

Hans Ulrich had previously served ten years in prison for the murder in 1988 of a woman he found sleeping in her car. Having shot her several times, he dragged her into the woods and impaled her naked body on a tree branch.

Although reports found that he was unable to control his aggressive tendencies, he was nevertheless released and later secured a job with the Winterthur town council.
